Schools and districts may prepare data files (user, student, and classes*) for a one-time upload at the beginning of each new school year and manage ongoing changes through the year by adding individual records. Teachers can then add new students to their classes once they have been added to Forefront. Teachers can also create new classes or groups of students as needed using the class creation tool.
Who is this for? Single schools or small districts.
To get started, make sure that the person preparing these data files and performing the upload has an admin account in Forefront. This contact will consult the tools in the Admin tab to prepare and upload the required data files for an initial configuration or a returning district.
*If you are a small school or district that does not have a dedicated IT team and needs help preparing these data files, contact email@example.com to share the contact information (name and email address) of the person that will be preparing these data files. Our team will send a secure file upload link and work with your draft data files to prepare them for a successful upload into our program.
Districts may run a script exporting data from your Student Information System (SIS) to prepare data files (user, student, and classes*) for a daily import into Forefront.
Who is this for? Districts with multiple elementary schools or schools with a dedicated tech manager.
To get started, contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request the creation of a shared FTP folder and access credentials. Our team is also happy to verify the integrity of data files or answer any questions about technical requirements. File templates may also be found here.
